Resource Guide
All families receive a copy of Montgomery County Public Schools’ Office of Student and Family Support and Engagement’s Resource Guide. Download an extra copy here or pick one up outside the office to find contact information for a wide variety of community resources.
Child Find and Infants and Toddlers
If you suspect your child may have a developmental delay or other special need, the specialists at Infants and Toddlers (birth to 34 months old) and Child Find (35 months old through pre-kindergarten) can help.
GSLP screens all incoming students using the Ages & Stages Questionnaire. The results from this screening help teachers make recommendations to parents regarding further screening by Child Find or Infants and Toddlers. Teachers discuss the results of these screenings during fall parent-teacher conferences.
Parenting Support
Many resources exist to support parents in raising healthy, happy children. A few to check out:
Parent Encouragement Program: PEP offers classes, workshops, and resources for parents of toddlers through teens, both online and in person.
Parent’s Place of Maryland: Parent’s Place offers resources for families of children with special needs.
Maryland Family Network: MFN offers Family Support Centers as well as parenting resources, including help finding child care and a weekly podcast.
Ready at Five: Ready at Five offers tips on activities to do with your child at home to help ensure they are fully ready for school.
