Being preschool teachers we love a good book! Here are some of our current favorites:
Anything by Mo Willems - He has a couple series that are always fan favorites: Elephant and Piggie series, Don’t Let the Pigeon series, Knuffle Bunny, Naked Mole Rat, Nanette’s Baguette, Leonardo the Terrible Monster, Cat the Cat series and more.
Book with No Pictures by B.J. Novak - this is a silly book that helps kids see how wonderful just words can be.
I See a Song by Eric Carle - this book has a small introductory blurb and then just pictures. We chose to read the book while listening to different pieces of music for each picture - it was a lovely connection between how music can inform what we see.
Snippets by Diane Alber - this is a wonderful book about all our different feelings.
The Color Monster by Ana Llenas - another great book about all the feelings we have.
Pete the Cat Series and Llama Llama series are always a favorite and are great to work on identifying rhyming words.
Dragons Love Tacos by Adam Rubin is great book about dragons who love tacos but not spicy bits and chaos ensues are a surprise addition to the salsa.
The Day the Crayons Quit by Drew Daywalt is a funny story about crayons grievances to their owner about how he choses to use them.
Press Here and Mixit by Hervé Tullet is a beautifully written book that calls for some fun interaction.
Don’t Push the Button by Bill Cotter is a silly story about a monster who is tempted to push a button that he’s not supposed to push.
We’ll be back with more recommendations through the year!
